Lesson Learnt - My Root Canal Experience - Volume1

This is all about my recent life experience. May be call it as my carelessness or choosing a wrong doctor or ?

4 years back I took a root canal surgery for one of my teeth. Few months back, the cap kept on top of root canal teeth came out. I started feeling some pain on that teeth and met a doctor near to my house. He suggested to have a cap over it so that it will be safer for the teeth. I am not comfortable with that doctor but I was about to leave in 10 days time to U.S (during Nov 08) so I asked the doctor to place a cap. The doctor placed the cap but the pain was not reduced. The doctor given some pain killers. Whenever I took the tablet it will reduce but rest of the time pain was there.

On 28th Nov I left to U.S. During the first 2 weeks of my stay I didnt realized any pain on my teeth. On the 3rd week, there was a little pain as usual I tried my level best to control myself (from early days of my life, I have used to go to doctor at final stage till that time will try to handle it) but the climate was very cold. I had a severe pain on the last 10 days during my stay at U.S. Close to 5 days of sleepless nights, It was really a very tough time for me. Close to a month I have not used one side of my teeth for chewing. I got some medicines from Walmart pharmacy without prescription but whenever I apply the medicine 10 to 20 minutes there won't be any pain, but after that it will start paining. Since the climate is too cold there, the pain was at his peak.

Lesson Learnt:
1. Ensure you are completely alright before making a trip to U.S.A
2. Try to carry all the medicines and prescription required for your stay at U.S.A
3. Only certain medicines were sold in pharmacy without prescription, rest all require prescription
4. To get an appointment with a doctor during your short stay is really very difficult, since the process followed here is totally different. You need to search for a doctor near to your location and check whether you have eligibility to visit that doctor.
5. In U.S.A, all your health issues are related with a plan and for your plan in your area there is specified set of doctors and you are allowed to visit those doctors only.
